How to take an OIETC exam?

Sign Up for the OIETC Portal

First, you need to sign up for the test. To do this, create a new account on the OIETC’s website. If you have already applied to some universities, you might have a few offers that depend on your test results.

Pay for the OIETC

The next step is to buy the test. On your OIETC portal, click on the “Get a License” option at the top of the home screen. This will take you to a payment confirmation page. Some of your details will already be filled in from when you signed up. Make sure this information is correct, then proceed to make the payment.

Sit the OIETC’s Reading and Listening Sections

After you pay, you can start the OIETC test immediately from this portal. The Reading and Listening sections are multiple-choice and take about 40 minutes and 20 minutes respectively. You must complete these two sections before scheduling the Speaking test or doing the Writing task.

Complete Your Writing Assessment

After completing the Reading and Listening sections, you can access the Writing and Speaking parts. Submit your Writing task through the portal, which takes about an hour. Finish it 24 hours before your Speaking session. You can book the Speaking session once you finish the first two sections.

Book Your Speaking Exam

This is the only test part you need to schedule. After the Reading and Listening sections, click “Schedule an Interview” on the Speaking tile in your OIETC portal. Book it at least 24 hours ahead, and check the timezone. Finish the Writing section 24 hours before the Speaking session, or it will be cancelled.

Receive Your Results from the OIETC
