The ELLT Accepted Universities
Do you want to study abroad but worried about the English proficiency test? Studying abroad can be a little bit different or complicated when you are from a non-English speaking country. As an international student, you must prove your English language proficiency. And when we think about English language tests, the first thing that comes to mind is IELTS, right? But what if you don’t have it? Don’t worry there are other tests like ELLT available for international students delivered by the Oxford International English Test centre. Here we will learn about the ELLT accepted universities.

What is ELLT?

It is an acronym for the English Language Level Test. This test is a part of the Oxford International Education Group. This test is considered a great alternative to IELTS. As it is offered ELLT, through it, a four-step assessment (Reading, Writing, Speaking, Listening) is taken to identify the level of English language proficiency of an international student.

Difference Between OIETC and ELLT.

OIETC is the previous version of the ELLT. OIETC stands for Oxford International English Test Centre and ELLT stands for English Language Level tests to understand the competence of a student’s English language. ELLT determines a student’s English competency score based on 13 point-based scales by the Oxford International Digital Institute.

The Test Module of ELLT

Like the IELTS there are four modules in it. Such as- Reading, Listening, Writing, and Speaking. The reading and listening tests are done at the same time. After that, the writing test will be taken. And lastly, there will be a speaking test to measure students’ speaking capacity.

How is the ELLT Assessment done?

Here we will learn about the assessment system for this. As we know, the online English level test has four elements. The reading and listening test will be done altogether. Then there will be a writing test. After that, a professional English trainer will take the oral test at the most suitable time for you.

With high AI proctoring and security, the reading test will be conducted through 2 comprehensions. The test duration is 40 minutes. In the listening section, there will be 2  audio tracks that take 25 minutes to complete.

In the writing part, there will be opinion-based essay-type questions. After completing the task, you will directly deliver your answer sheet to the examiner. It will take 60 minutes to complete.

The speaking test will consist of three different stages and will be taken by the same trainer at the most suitable time for you. It will take 20 minutes to complete.

All parts of this English test will be taken online. Your score will be mailed to you just after the test.

Time Span of ELLT Test

When you want to take an English Language Level Test, you must have a clear idea of the duration of it. It is important for preparation. As it has 4 skills, let’s divide it into four and understand the time skills.

Reading Skill- The first skill test is the reading test that consists of two texts. You will have 40 minutes to complete this test.

Listening Skill- The second skill test is the listening test. It has 2 audio recordings and will take 25 minutes to complete. In the listening test, you have to show the audio record first and then answer the question.

Writing Skill- The third skill test is writing skills. Through the writing skill, a student’s writing efficiency is evaluated. The writing test result will be submitted directly to the examiner. The test will take 60 minutes to complete.

Speaking Skill- The speaking test a student is taking at the most suitable time for them. There will be a live examiner who will speak with you to evaluate your speaking capability. There will be three separate phases of the speaking test and it will take 20 minutes to complete.
